Amazon Prime aka the bait and switch

24 Mar

So I had Amazon Prime, heck I’ve had it for years. And now I see that effective this month when I reset my year it’s going to be $20 more. I personally find this egregious.

As they keep adding cost I’m not really getting value. There is no reason for them to raise cost at this point except because they want to hammer me for the one or two parts of the Amazon Prime service I use.

Let’s talk about perceived value.

Amazon Prime get you the free shipping and the discounts and the special bundles and you can get some Kindle books and there’s some other discounts and then now there’s Whole Foods you get a discount and you can get Amazon Prime Store card which is through Synchrony Bank, Amazon itself blah blah blah. So here comes Jeff Bezos saying that they’ve added so much more value that it justifies a 20% increase in the cost of Amazon Prime. I call foul the play. I’d actually call b******* but I don’t want to curse on my own blog.

Even if I use every single option Amazon Prime offered me, literally everything- the photos, the video, the Prime video, the access to Old HBO shows, the Whole Foods, the free delivery, the pantry, Amazon is getting money from me every month excetera excetera I still don’t see any value in adding a 20% increase of cost.

I’d be paying more and using it less.

So it is canceled.

No mess,

No fuss, no muss.

It is done.

Bye Amazon.
