11 Money-Saving Strategies
In challenging economic times, people look for different ways to save money and clean up their finances. It pays to educate yourself so that you can make informed decisions about budgeting, investing and other aspects of your finances. While the biggest savings come from limiting your spending to the cash in your wallet, the trick is to set reasonable goals.

Simple steps, such as paying off your credit card balance each month to increasing your contribution to your retirement account, are attainable and worthwhile goals. A good approach is to start with a few things that are so easy to fix that you’ll stick with the program.

Another way to save is to take a second look at big-ticket items, such as insurance. For example, switching from whole life to term will save money and increase cash flow.

You may be surprised how quickly these changes can add up to real money in your pocket.

CROUSE: Best recession insurance: Marriage

Americans rediscovering the original and best social safety net

Economists refer to the economic benefit that accrues to married couples as the “marriage premium.” A recent CBS television special asked the question, “Why is marriage such an economic turn-on?” The program “MoneyWatch” gave three reasons based on a report from the Pew Research Center’s report, “Women, Men and the New Economics of Marriage”:

Economies of scale: Married couples share the cost of necessary expenses, such as health insurance, utility bills and mortgage payments. That is especially significant today when more than two-thirds of men have working spouses and 22 percent of wives make more than their husbands.

Maybe no housing rebound for a generation: Shiller

7 things to do to get your day and your business running right

30 Apr

1)Wake up early.
-Never underestimate the power of an early start. Also you are not losing time or wasting it.

2) Spend 20 minutes on meditation and self help/self learning.
-A day should not go by where you do not spend a minimum of 20 minutes to an hour working on bettering you, your global knowledge base, or your business acumen and people skills. This is key people. Meditation helps. Before bed and upon waking- I state it in that order because a cleared mind before bed gets you better results the next day

3) Make 5 new connections daily.
-Irregardless of your business or dreams you need people. Word of mouth is probably the strongest biz builder in the world. The internet is a close second, but that’s a different discussion. People will always sing your virtues if you do quality work. But you have to go out and meet these people first.
And lastly:
Always get their contact info.

4) Create new content daily.
I don’t care what your business is or your goal. Everyday give back, create value. Your content is a lifeline. And when you give you get. So, teach and set an example and the path you will blaze will be long and prosperous.

5) Set a budget.
-If you were opening a McDonald’s or a Levitz or a pawnshop you would need initial capital and money to bankroll monthly expenses until you not only turn a profit but, a continuous one. One you can live off of.

6) Put it on paper (and say aloud)
Write out your dreams.
Write out your hopes and plans.
Make it a hand written obligation to yourself. Write out what you want, when you want it by and a very, very specific date on this piece of paper.

7) Repeat the process.
‘Nuff said bub’.- to quote Wolverine.

BONUS STEP:
Make a TO DO List DAILY. And it must be hand written. Before bed or upon waking it must be written and reviewed. and should you pen this missive in the AM, read it and double check it before bed. You will find your mind clearer and your dreams. More peaceful.

So the economy has slower growth upon revision.  Many of us expected this, hell I expected worse.  I do expect fear and a run for the hills with stock shorts and gains to come from the sky is falling crowd. Me I’d rather be the fox with a lot of variety in my meals locked in at a low price.  All jokes aside the parable is sensible and is vastly applicable to your daily decisions.  What are you doing to beat the market? do you have a plan to beat the declining dollar? Heck can you at least keep up with deflationary or inflationary trends without eroding your nest egg and or 401k? Or will you hunker down and curse Helicopter Ben, Obama, or the GOP? I have a simple concept and two pronged agenda: Plan ahead, and make income that exceeds my needs in every market. You see it used to be about what you saved not what you made.  Yet in my humble opinion its not what you keep that’s the integral part but what you make.  If you are a billionaire you can do as you please theoretically.  If 40k is your net then we need to talk.  The current economy dictates that we have to guard our money and our investments with a zealous care.  A contrite manner wont work.  Feeling guilty that you didn’t save is not the answer. Now by no means do I suggest you don’t save.  No save, save, save! But if you could supplement your income, especially for those of us with great benefits- wouldn’t you want to? If you could turn weak dollars into strong assets wouldn’t you feel secure and sleep soundly? IS a 5000 dollars cash-flow increase to your month gross exciting? IF you could achieve this money without schemes, gimmicks or IRS trickery? IF anything I’ve said intrigues you- IF anything in the economy has you worried- IF you simply want greater financial freedom- IF you want to fire your boss- LETS TALK. @changeinadvance changeinadvance@gmail.com Or simply reply to this post.
