Jay Cutler Talking about Bodybuilding January 2011 – Bodybuilding Advice from Jay Cutler (by sawboy2)

guy has his degree, and not in phys ed- great video.

He speaks on being the best and quite simply said he equates it with being the best at whatever you do. and he means a specific goal.  not the jack of all trades, but the guy who pulls a Bruce Jenner after Munich- you push, and push, and get to the top and then push more!!!!

Do people see you as a Professional or an Amateur?

3 Jun

So you started a catering business and your excited. Maybe you started selling life insurance. Or maybe you’re taking your first crack at an MLM. No matter your story, you’re excited. You’re on fire to blaze a trail and not only make money but see the world and spend more time with your family. Success is a sure thing as long as you follow through. And you have set the steps in motion. Your auto-ship is set so you meet your reqs, and you have your warm market list ready as well as a strategy to force yourself to talk to 5 ppl a day you’ve never met.
Awesome. You’re on the right path. You even read my thoughts on consistency. So you’re even inspired!
But are you seen as PROFESSIONAL?
Do you ooze Professionalism?
When people meet you are they blown away by the air of professionalism you exude or do they see the neighborhood goof?
Do you reek of AMATEUR?
Are you the guy people seek out for advice or the one they see leaving happy hour everyday?
You see we all have friends, and we all want to be Capt. Cool. In business however that isn’t enough. Being amiable- smart. Being convivial-sure why not.
PROFESSIONAL- necessity.
You see people have no need of you or your service and or products if they see you as an amateur. Have you thought about it? Hope so. A goof is a good guy, but he rarely makes it to seven or even eight figure income in his own business. People will listen to a professional. Think of Warren Buffet. He’s an old man, great smile, perceived as gentle and amiable. Yet a meal with him is two million plus on ebay. You see when you are a Professional- people will pony up the dough instead of simply paying you lip service.
The local banker is always sharp. He helps his neighbors and is a community leader.
So let’s build off of that small example and list the traits, concepts, and simple solutions to make sure your opportunity, and more importantly you are seen as a quality/
professional.

-First: are you well groomed? A small step but vastly important. People take a look at you and make a judgment instantaneously. Your hair, teeth, nails, and clothing should be ‘dressed to kill’. Shave regularly, whiten your teeth if needed. And remember the iron is your friend.

-Second: do you spend all day playing play-station 3 and talking trash online? If you do odds are if you approached me to join your venture I’d say cool but no thanks. People will listen, and- and join, if you are who they see in themselves. And if they see a businessman they will join. My point: be careful what you broadcast about yourself. Be you, no question- but talk smart and always size up your prey and your competition.

-Third: are you a timely person? Being on time is 90% of everything. If you are always late, you aren’t serious. Sorry. FACT. I won’t do business with someone who’s always ‘tardy for the party’. And business is more important that the party. Now I’m doing a play on words based on a Bravo tv show, but you get the point. On time is five minute early. And when that is your mantra it will show and build your business as well. If you can’t be late for work, how much more important is it to be ON TIME in your OWN business???????

Fourth: are you the gossip hound and facebook fiend? Great fun but a bad reputation is your reward. People may like gossip but no one trusts the gossiper. And guess what? That means the gossiper never makes money! Close your mouth. Smile more and talk less if need be. And on social media- guard your words and thoughts. It isn’t just gossip. The girl spending all day bragging, or gaming on farmville- yeah, I don’t join her juice venture or recommend
My friends and family to her. Side note- don’t blast your business all day everyday on your fb and twitter etc. There are social media marketing strategies that work- and that’s not one. (Need one? Send me a message for free help or paid-for high power stuff.).

Fifth and final: professionals exude professionalism. When they meet strangers, it is known that they are the real thing. When they talk, EVERYONE listens. And what’s more, they don’t close 100% of the time. BUT, they plant a lot more seeds, and hook a lot more fish than capt cool does. You see the Fonz, his cool works based on his rep (more on that later). He put the work in. He did the deed. And look back at that show. He was always on time. Always there when he was needed. He was well groomed and had great teeth. The Fonz was the epitome of cool- But also a good example of what you should be.

This is your business and its results are predicated solely on your actions and demeanor.
A famous person once said “The harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.”
Think about that. Apply it, and make your dreams and goals your REALITY!

(The one thing your missing) in your business…

2 Jun

Do you have a mentor?

So you started a business, and your excited.
You’ve got a good business, great compensation plan, a long list of leads, and you know your why.
So the basics are all in line. You’re on fire to learn and you actually believe in your product- and the tax breaks afforded Americas small business owners are pretty nifty too (more on those later).
So we got through the amazing list and I have a small question-
Do you have a mentor?
If so congratulations. If not have you considered it?
A mentor is an untapped resource for many people. And one many of us cannot afford to miss out on.
Entrepreneurs, especially those that are still young have a tendency to seek business advice from their friends. And while this may be comforting and reaffirming you daily- its the last thing that is needed. See, a friend is always going to say what you want to here. In business a mentor is a better bet- they will tell you what you NEED to hear. That one advantage is tremendous. As the mentor isn’t close to you or part of your direct circle they are less likely to hold back. You may dislike the answers you get, heck you may hate some- but they will work.
So I bet your asking- well fine. You’re right buddy- but who do I get as a mentor? What would work? Better yet who?

A mentor doesn’t have to be from your line of work or business niche. They could be a realtor to your silver business. A mentor in your chosen niche is a great thing but not always the mentor you need. Any mentor that will put in the time is worth it. Most of the possible mentors you will seek out will be business people and odds are they will be entrepreneurs. Better yet, they SHOULD be Entrepreneurs. They may be professional entrepreneurial advisors or just the local rich guy who fought to the top. The mentor can fill in the gaps and point you in the direction you need and helps you see what you might be missing. We all miss things, hey we are human. And a seasoned vet that can get you to see these is like a gold mine in your backyard.

A few more key points:
-Make sure your mentor is literally successful. Not the guy who talks circles around people and sounds real smooth.
– Be sure that their personality matches yours. You want to be able to pick up on how they get it done and if your way too different, it won’t work.
-Make sure they have the skill set too match as well. If they don’t have the skills you need or a way to refine the ones you have its likely you’re wasting their time and yours.
-To find the mentor you Need, fan out. Ask your friends and coworkers for advice. Attend your businesses get together’s and industry events. There’s a great chance the mentor you need is right in front of you and you.

Be Bobby Fischer or Be Gone!

Be Bobby Fischer or Be Gone!

Ok, Bobby Fischer went a little nutty by most standards but let’s be honest- he was brilliant.
Bobby set a standard. Bobby broke records, bobby was in hip hop terminology- a Boss.
Now I say all this to augment a fact and word of caution: IGNORE YOUR FRIENDS.
Bobby Fischer had a singular focus. A goal. A cause. And he worked at it day and night.
Bobby trained like an Olympian- solely to gain stamina. He knew that value of consistent training and its methodologies. His mind and body could simply endure longer. Which on any battlefield and in any business is a win win.
Bobby focused on how to win. Bobby beat the world champ from russia with his mind. He bickered, bantered, was tardy and for the most part an insolent jerk. And it worked. Bobby’ strategy went so far as to even forfeit a game due to tardiness. All to an end, a purpose. He threw his opponent off in every way he could imagine. It wasn’t simply a game to be played on the board but in the battle we call living. He focused on strategies to break strategies.

Now this long preamble serves a purpose. I use it to illustrate not how Bobby Fischer was an enigma, or a ‘Boss’, or simply a world class champion. I use it to point out singularity of focus. You see, Bobby didn’t have time to listen to friends and family. Critics, naysayers, heathens, and fans were all irrelevant. Bobby knew that you can’t listen to the people who don’t step in the ring with you. Whether the odds are for or against you- Preparation, Intuition, and Consistency are the keys to victory.
These three things, not his three best friends or his mum and dad are what made him a champion. If Bobby listened to his friends many of his far out strategies would have been cast aside. Never underestimate the power of others to ruin your momentum. If allowed people will crush you out of love, and though inadvertent- a loss is a loss.

In the small business world the same holds true. Many times our friends or family will say that a new venture is foolish. Perhaps the wife says its too expensive. Perhaps the husband insists its something akin to his time in _________(fill in the blank with an mlm of your choice). Heck the attrition rate in these ventures is 60-90%!!!!! And your best friend will tell you that to dissuade you.
I say being in that last 10% makes you a diamond amongst the coals.

Suffice it to say- KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE. Let no one pull you from your course. What the mind is set to it will achieve. The only question is will u let friends stop you or will you reach Mt. Olympus and seize the glory???

Do the Possible

6 minutes to your future

30 May

Do you realize that your future may be behind you?
Your favorite friends might be your biggest roadblocks?
And your future is in your hands?

Simple right?
WRONG.
A lot of times we say the system is against me, I can’t prosper, I’m not rich….
Bull poppy I say. What you want you will get. Want wealth- agree to it.
Want a job, agree to it.
You get what you set your eyes on.
So, you say- ‘tony, I’m in agreement with wealth, with riches- great. What have you done?
Have you built your mind set?
Written out your ideas?
Created a dream board?
If not start over.
Get your prospects by being genuine.
Your best prospect is the guy 3 steps behind you looking for help. Teach, aide, and you will win.

Friends say tony is eh, walk away from them. Get with winners and you will win.

Lastly, winning is you, is within you is the difference…
