Procrastinate, it helps.

14 Jun

Procrastinate it helps.

No seriously. Waste more time. Sounds nuts? Let’s examine that for a second. Do you still pay bills and balance your check book at the dinner table? With paper pencil and the proverbial checkbook? Are you still using stamps? So every month you waste time, about two hours being the well trained quasi accountant. Its 2012 people. Most banks have free auto pay. This let’s you preset or arrange your bill payments as your income is received. So you save time. You same money on stamps. You save money on overdraft fees and late payments. Sounds like a win win because it is. Time is now returned to you and cash flow.

Going to the gym five times a week? Working on that hard earned, super cut physique? Congrats. And you’re losing if you spend two to three hours daily doing so. Your body needs focused precise methodical steps. It doesn’t need long hours. After you pass a certain time threshold your body enters what I like to call the cortisol arena and you essentially help yourself create fat and or keep it. (More info on this? See wiki. You know you wiki). So to recap you work so hard to be Adonis you become the cow. Nice. Wouldn’t properly ordered and executed workouts that systematically build on your earlier efforts work better? Of course. So let’s leave the old school and hit books. You can do more in seventy minutes than you can in two hours. Breakout the stop watch and check the net. Or simply pay a trainer for five sessions. Learn the routine the right way because time is money.

Enjoying that history channel? CNN, you’re so informed. MMA. You’re the tough guy, I concede. Diy- nice! You’re building a Gazebo! And in the twenty hours you spend watching these shows could make you better. If you spent those twenty hours working at Kmart you could use those funds to make a dent in your school loans. Lowered debt and saved interest payments means you are debt free faster and breathing easy. Or maybe you take that meager check and apply it to the mortgage to be applied to the principal. Now you have dented your debt burden using the same strategy that is employed against you simply in reverse. One hundred dollars a month will take five to eight years off your mortgage. FACT. Ready for that retirement sooner now I bet. So don’t watch the diy guy who built his business. Mind yours. That basement apartment idea he shows, cool. But in this economy it goes to the kids who are the recession victims as they will have student loans and low to no employment. Don’t watch him build dream homes. Build your dream life. Cutting these simple steps out means you have upwards of forty hours a month to get your business off the ground. Work. And then build a future with no bosses. No meager forced ERISA 401ks. Build a dream that you own. That is your way. That feeds minds or whole towns. Only step left is to commit. Are you with me?

Thought for Today

I WOULD BE A SITH

10 Jun

I WOULD BE A SITH

So, most people will hate me for this, but hey I’m honest.  I couldn’t be a Jedi.  Denying everything I might ever want.  Ignoring urges, needs, and desires to be broke, technically homeless, and wear snazzy robes?  Nope not for me.  Sorry.  See I like Lamborghinis. Ferraris, Porsches, and M3s oh my!

Back to focus though- first I apologize for the lack of articles.  I had some technically difficulties and had to write on scratch paper until I could get my tech back to perfection.  As I was saying- I would be a Sith.

The Sith are comparably powerful, self indulgent, and are still masters of their craft.  All things that most people when they are honest will agree that they approve of.

-No one wakes up denying a lust for success.

Everyone wants to be successful.  To complete goals and dreams gives a sense of success, confidence and poise.  People who build from success to success are guess what?  Extremely successful you see I’ve never met a person who wanted to be third place.  Heck, no one goes to the Olympics for silver!  We all want to be winners.  To triumph where others fail and where few shall venture is the very pinnacle of existence in some cultures and for many many people.  Have you never not wanted more? Pardon the double negative but I write it purposely to convey my point.  When you were little and you played monopoly you wanted to win.  You may have bought the crap properties but you had a strategy that you thought led down the path to victory.  I rest my case.

-Sith chase their desires.

When you were young, and maybe even in your older age (I digress im in my 30s) you wanted things.  To race cars, build a motorcycle, relive the movie easy riders.
Today many of us have traded freedom for security. What I mean is that we have traded jobs for dreams and mortgages for adventures. Now there’s no problem with growing up- can’t be Peter Pan forever. Yet slaving all day under a boss is surely not the American dream. Take me for example. I want to work, but for myself. I don’t want a boss.
I don’t want a mortgage, unless there is some tax gains to be had.
I don’t want to need a union.
I don’t want the economy to dictate my employability or impede my financial goals.
I do want freedom to do as I please.
I do want time to watch my children grow.
I do want to fire my boss.
I do want to vacation anywhere, at the drop of a dime.
Don’t you?
Isn’t it time to chase dreams?
Can’t work be the same amount

Focus-
Use all your power-
Hone your craft.
Let desires and wants add fuel to your why to get you to your dream accomplishment.

Goal achieved in the flesh

Are you in the Sales business?

9 Jun

Sorry for the delay in my nightly article. I had technical difficulties. Apologies to my readers.
Back to topic.

Are you in the sales business?
Simple question. Well maybe not.
If your in network marketing, mlm or a few other choice avenues of wealth creation I’d say no. Why you ask?
Simple- your goal should be to invite and or get referrals solely.

Why. You don’t want to chase

You don’t won’t to be in sales mode all day.
What do you want to be:
Be in ABC mode-
Always
Be
Closing.
Simple. Elegant. Easy to execute. When you are recruiting you want to complete the ABC pattern- By being amiable, and by solving problems. When your focus is on them and not on your commission, they will join. They will be success machines and you will have given first and ultimately received as a result.

You don’t like this concept, or your new to the game- deal.
Become a master inviter.
The average venture will supply you with a successful upline, hey that’s why you joined right? And if it doesn’t RUN! So if you were brought into a venture by a mentor or great upline- let them do the work. Tony, isn’t that cheating? Never. You see. What works, works. And most mentors and uplines would rather you defer to their knowledge, abilities, and keen trained eye to seal the deal. Now this isn’t to keep you down but bring you up. Learn the business from their point of view because most of us lose business and motion when we assume we ‘got it.’. Get enough info to invite people to meetings or to get closer to them. And let someone who knows the 1,001 questions answer them from you. In essence- be the bridge to the wealth not the blockade.

Now its crunch time, four seconds on the clock and you need to inbound the ball for a magnanimous three pointer. How do you say? Easy. Be a referral grabbing Machine. Every person you meet whether they join forces with you or not has a warm market of 200 people. So, following an early articles theme- you speak to 5 ppl a day at 7 days you get 35 possibles right?
WRONG.
You get 7,035 potential leads. Now tell me again why you can’t #thrive and not just #survive? Exactly. We #thriveorsurvive.

Quick recap?
-Sell, when you have to.
ABC- Always Be Closing. You are selling when needed but you are closing always! close by being amiable, concise, and don’t beat the dead horse.
-Invite- always!
Always get people to meetings. Always invite them. Always get a phone number and or email. Always be candidly persistent.
-Referrals- bread and butter? Nahhhh.
That’s the steak.
Many people will tell you no- FACT. And they all know people who will beg you to let them say yes. So be respectful, calm, cool and collected. And get a list of emails and numbers (see the pattern?)…
Remember its not hooking the fish, its how you reel it in.

Know YOUR GOAL

Know YOUR GOAL

So I was watching Jay Cutler aka Mr. Olympia at a speaking event. For those of my readers who are like- huh?- Jay is basically the top body builder in the world. People from all over the globe come to compete in the Mr. Olympia. In essence you don’t just walk in and become the champ. You fight and claw your way to the top. And most of your competitors- are former Mr Olympias. Doesn’t it just get better?
I say all this as a preamble.
So let me segway-
Jay was giving a talk, kind of informal and part q&a. And people asked what do you bench?
What do you squat?
Dead-lift?

someone said what do you clear in…..?
And Jay said? I don’t know. I don’t do that. That’s power lifting not bodybuilding.
Said concisely- one is about what you lift one is about what you shape. Power lifters and there bunch are about massive, brute, strength. And they work at it. They put in the hours, no question. But its a different sport. Bodybuilders attain a weight class and size they want. And they don’t just bulk up. They shape it. They even it out. Proportion and mass are balanced. Posing routines are mastered, tans gotten… You get the point.

WHATS YOUR POINT TONY?
Glad you asked.
See Jay didn’t answer. He didn’t get a ‘tude. He pointed out what was His Goal.
He is a body builder not a power lifter. Nuff said. And here in lies the key to today’s lesson: KNOW YOUR GOAL.
Elegant in its simplicity but so powerful.
If you have a goal what is it?
Have you decided?
Is it one goal with a few facets?
Are you trying to build multiple streams of income at once?
If so, brother you might just lose. You see FOCUS. Is the name of the game.
Is your goal- ill be rich. Pretty close. How about my venture will make me rich.
Or I will sign up 8 associates.
I will sell a property a month.
I will save 12 percent of every check I receive.
See the pattern developing?
These are goals. Concise, Focused, you-centric goals.
You-centric. Sounds odd, I know. But think about what it means. Your goal- is YOU specific. See? There’s accountability built into your goal. A dream has now become a goal. A hope is on its path to reality. There’s a specific set of rules to succeed in life. There is no free buffet. Everything has a price.
To be your own boss.
To be independently wealthy.
To be able to live where you want with whom you please and as you please to- all require action. These things require goals,
a plan- a written plan,
A commitment
A belief
And consistency.
Now we have spoke on many of these things and there are more steps and further breakdowns we will discuss as we progress down this road together.
But just as I have committed to this blog you have to commit to ONE, 1, GOAL.
Know this goal. If I asked you at 3am what your goal is would you curse me or have a succinct answer?
And guess what. I don’t expect you will have but one goal. Or even one dream. Life is a series of small victories chained together to create a dynamic, fruitful, epic that will have been a greater ride than the destination. Use THIS Goal as a stepping stone.
Set it. Focus it. Smash it out of the park. Do your end zone dance. And then, rinse and repeat. AKA start the process over. The first goal met will fuel you to rise past the next 5 and so forth.

THE Three Simple Steps

4 Jun

So- My regular readers know I’m a fiend for the gym. Now my friends know I’m husky-ish, lol. But see, my goal has always been to build mass, then strength, and beauty aka the gym body is last in line for goals. Now I’m down, down to 270. I was bigger. I was smaller last year but I decided I wanted to be bigger. I decided I didn’t want the trim. I wanted to eat the gym.
Now being the MENSA member I am I hurt my back at a peak of strength 6 months ago. Pressing 120 pound dumb bells on the incline bench I strained my lower back, abs, transversals, and obliques- yup, major ouch.
Now that was the easy part. The mental fear lasted about two months longer.
However, three keys opened the door to a greater return on not only my physical investment in the self but in my online ventures.

What are they you ask? Simple. So simple it scares me.

Belief, Commitment, and Consistency.
That’s it.

So let me expound on this incrementally.

BELIEF- if you don’t believe in you, no one will. So simple its elegance will pass most of us by. Nothing is accomplished without belief. And a million twitter followers might, might help- but YOU HAVE to Believe in you first and foremost. What you believe you will achieve. And sorry for the cheap cliche but its true. How can you lead if you don’t have the belief?
How can they follow one who’s belief is not in his self and then in them. Its like fear- its contagious. So I ask, what do you want to infect your friends, family, team, prospects, leads and even yourself with…..

Commitment: if you don’t commit nothing happens. Belief is simply the turn key. I’d you don’t commit you will get nowhere. Is that success? I’d say no! It reeks of ignorance and fear. Commitment, when based on Belief will take you to heights unseen. Your commitment is like bricks in a wall. The more you re-affirm it the greater the wall, aka your success. Commitment is exactly what it sounds like- a union without end. No boundaries. You COMMIT and make it work. No excuses or theories. Get it done. I could say more but if you’re reading this you get the message.

Consistency: so you get that belief is a stepping stone of epic proportions. And you know you MUST Commit to your self if not to your venture and your success. Consistency is quite possibly the glue of not just simple success but of Leadership. You see for your life or your marriage or your business to succeed- you have to be a LEADER. People want to be lead. They want someone who steps into the void and illuminates the path. People as a whole want leadership- Obama stepped into a gap as big as a continent and convinced the populace to carpe diem with him. Get the point? His message was consistent. His terms as well. He followed through on what he said he would do. He believed he could do it. Most importantly he has been consistent in his dreams and objectives. So you’re a republican- fine. But see the message. Consistency changes not just singular lives but families, neighborhoods, cities and so forth. So I challenge you:
BE CONSISTENT. Let that goal lead you to be the business man and leader you were meant to be. Day in and day out meet every challenge and goal with a zeal that would put St. Peter to shame.
Let that bloom from your commitment to greatness. Your ability to meet every day and every task anew and smash them like a volley in your final match- sampras/agassi style.
Lastly let this all bloom from a healthy BELIEF in who you are and who you can and WILL BE. See, who you are, is constantly changing. Especially in leadership. You must rise to meet the needs of your followers.
A flock with a shepherd who believes he’s lost is indeed lost.
Are you inspired? Do you believe? Want to make huge strides towards not just success and wealth but true leadership?
