Via @michaelhardle –  ANCHORS OR ENGINES

In our lives each of us have anchors or engines.
Anchors are people who drag us down or hold us in place. They stop of from moving forward or progressing in life.
Engines are the people who push us forward or motivate us to improve. They help us improve and get further along in life.
The tricky part is sometimes anchors sneak up on you. You may not even realize they are an anchor weighing you down. Sometimes it’s only when you’re free that you realize how they were holding you back.
It’s also important to look at yourself and identify which one you are! Are you weighing those around you down or pushing them forward in life?

Identify you are anchors and engines and treat each accordingly!

Business tip of the week: Answer Your emails!

27 Jul

Business tip of the week: Answer emails from coworkers employees and prospective customers immediately.

So folks I had a guy offer me a job and I was actually excited to take it as a side job to build revenue so I could put money into my business as this will be short-term.

However the terms changed; which happens in business

We can all relate to that

However, when I was trying to get some finalized answers on how we would proceed I had to wait 24 hours for one answer and now it’s been 24 hours without the finalized answer to this first answer. Now if that sounds convoluted it is because it is convoluted.

There is no reason not to give bad news good news or just any news that relates to a business transaction or business Endeavor as fast as you humanely can.

Now most of my readers know you need to answer the prospective client ASAP No Doubt -but folks let’s not forget to answer the people we work with, we may work with, we work for, we work alongside, Pick a way you want to say that -but it is a common courtesy to make sure you answer all the emails from a person you get not just the ones you feel comfortable- or between your PS4 games or in those other little distractions you have.

 Good business is consistent communication.

Build your Dream, or slave for THEIRS

25 Jul

I had a harsh lesson today.

I was again reminded that no one will hold me down in the business world.

I’m not being cynical or bitter.

It actually galvanized me.

I feel empowered and ready to attack tomorrow more viciously then I have in a long time.

I’m a year into my total life change this Friday, and I will not survive.

I will THRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Importance of Developing a Better Mindset

7 Jul

The Importance of Developing a Better Mindset

Some people are all in to having a positive mindset. Some are so into it that it almost seems like woo-woo stuff to the people who have a more negative mindset. Trust me, this is not some woo-woo method for finding your inner bliss, nor does it require you to scale a mountain and sit cross-legged while chanting ohms and stuff like that.

A positive mindset is much more than that and it’s serious business. It can be difficult to obtain and just as difficult to maintain until it becomes a habit and ingrained in who you are. If you’re trying to run any kind of business, it’s absolutely necessary. If you’re trying to lose weight, it can give you a big boost to your self esteem.

A positive mindset helps you stay better focused on the goal instead of the obstacles to that goal. It helps you keep the big picture of things in the forefront of your mind. When obstacles do appear in your life or business, and they will, a positive mindset helps you discover solutions and ways to overcome those obstacles instead of just sitting still and staring at them.

On the opposite hand is a poor mindset. Having a poor mindset can make even the smallest problem seem unsurmountable. It causes you to worry so much about the event that you shut yourself and your mind off from finding possible solutions. It also leads many people to give up before they’ve even started.

Here are a few things that a poor mindset can/will give you:

A poor mindset leads to overreacting to situations.

A poor mindset leads to making poor decisions.

A poor mindset keeps you from seeing solutions to problems.

By working towards creating a better mindset and handling problems with grace and finesse, you’ll be better equipped to deal with the problems you face.

Here are a few things that a good mindset can/will give you:

A good mindset helps you react to situations in a mature, logical method.

A good mindset helps you make well thought-out decisions using facts instead of emotions.

A good mindset helps you find solutions to problems and keeps the problems from seeming like they are too big.

A good mindset energizes you, while a poor mindset drains your energy. If you’re always thinking negative about things and worried about how big your problems and obstacles are, you already know how draining this can be. You’re probably always tired or never feel like a go-getter. You probably do just enough work on a project to get by. Or you do just enough exercise to say you’ve done something. And no matter what you do accomplish, it never leaves you feeling good about yourself because more negative thoughts tend to creep in and steal what little joy you could be celebrating.

A positive mindset, while it can be a challenge, helps prepare you for the challenge. You may not solve every single problem you have, but when you have a healthy mindset, you see obstacles more as a way to push yourself and to grow as an individual. It also leaves you feeling more energized. Even if you’re physically tired, you feel good about yourself and how you’ve handled situations. You already know you’re on your way to finding a solution and you’re open to the possibility that it may not be the solution you expect, but it will work out in the end.

If you’re a negative thinker, start now to change your mind. It sounds simple, but it will take some work. Every time you realize your thoughts are drifting to a negative side or negative outlook, simply reel them back in and start pointing them towards a more positive way.
