Don’t Reinvent The Wheel.

22 Jul

Today’s article is going to be random in its cohesiveness but bear with me- it will be cogent by its end.

-What is your mindset?
What is it that you have told yourself you will do? What path have you created for yourself to follow? You see the mind will do what you tell it. And if you supply your mid with a simple concept, a seed idea- it will do the rest. We as entrepreneurs have to learn to keep to the basics. Merely getting the idea in your mind so it is deeply rooted and doing this three to five times a day will cause a tremendous mindset shift. This shift will move you from dreaming about success and wealth to having a wealth of success.

-Are you consistent in your actions? (Not just your speech)
This is a key concept a lot of people gloss over or outright ignore while paying lip service to the concept. Everyday we must do it all. WE must achieve. And the greatest step after mindset creation is consistency. By consistently acting in a manner that exudes business people will come for the ride. When people see that you are the same day in and day out. They will want to be with you. When they know that your actions speak louder than your words, and that the two match- then you will have true success. And I am not speaking of a few quick sales, or some opt-ins for a few weeks. No. I’m talking repetitive sales.
Repetitive growth.
Residual income.
Success.

-Don’t reinvent the wheel.
A lot of times the path before us is ready and right in front of us. If you have joined a team
And the leader/organizer has a blueprint for success- do it their way. Now I know from experience that not all uplines are created equal. And I know that some have no clue what’s going on in today’s marketing world. In fact they may even be half wrong.
But are they producing?
You joined right so it must work. Sorry to say it so crass but its that simple folks.
A mentor in a venture I left consistently does close to a quarter million dollars a year.
For about twenty years.
Recap:
$250,000.00 a year for 20 years.
Total:
Five million dollars aka $5,000,000.00.
His son does a million a year.
I’ll stop the dog and pony show now. Yet if we look at his results and the results of his son we see that the system works when you work it. I made a good profit before I left.
And it was simply from doing what he said. He said hit the ground running.
Act with urgency.
Make lists.
Do self improvement.
And I did everything he said. And it worked. Quickly too. And the only things I did were what he suggested. Heck!, I skipped a few steps thinking I was smart and still made money. Let’s imagine if I had not reinvented the wheel and just followed through one hundred percent…

-Follow through.
That’s it. No long diatribe. No fancy speech. Follow through. In golf it may define your swing. In love it is its definition. In life it is everything. When you don’t finish what you start you are almost worthless. Its equivalent to quitting. And if that’s you- quit the race.
And if its not- you will succeed.
And if it is and you want to change it- I’m here. Let’s win together.
I’ll show you a few tools and some cool concepts- most of which you can implement free. Let’s do it folks.

Its not the car its the driver.

21 Jul

Its not the car its the driver.

True story: I once raced an Audi A8 in an 86 camry- the 4 cylinder at that. And I won.
I know most of you are laughing or logging off your laptops and ipads in sheer disgust at such a boast but let me tell my story.
So its the last light before the west side highway and the guy next to me in the A8 was sneering at my hoopti (low cost, no frills car). So I tapped the gas petal perhaps too aggressively and he replied in kind. When the light went green he was gone. Off the line he left me looking limp with no cialis in sight. However about a half mile up when the traffic thickened I not only caught up but passed him. At this leg of the race he was outclassed in two ways. My car was a good deal smaller so I could get in and out of tight spots easier. Also I was a little younger and my nature a bit more zealous so I risked a little more than he did. I weaved in and out of traffic like a mad man. And by the time we exited for the Deegan he was behind me.
I will add that he had more to lose by driving more aggressively as his car was six figures and mine was three. However in this instance it can also be said that he was shown up by a hoopti while driving performance unleashed.

The moral of my story?
Its not your business that will hold you back. It is only you who can do that. I don’t care what venture, product, or concept you are involved with. When you don’t do what is needed you will always lose. Sales and recruiting are arenas of focus.
Are you focused?
If you aren’t focused you could give away gold and still go home with the exact amount of units you left your home with.
Do you go the extra mile?
Giving your team that little extra push, those few minutes of your day exactly when needed will fuel your results. Remember winners do more to get more.
Are you risking all you’ve got to get where you want to be?
Nothing is gained when nothing is risked. If you don’t put in the hours, the dollars and risk the rejection you won’t succeed. Bruce Jenner had to work harder to get his gold medal. And his failures were public! And so were his victories. Think about that.

These are simple questions folks. What are your answers.
In everything you do in life from love to sales, to brushing your teeth you only get what you put in. A better toothbrush isn’t the key to cleaner teeth. Brushing three to four times a day for the prescribed amount of time is the key. Same in love. Same in business. The keys are simply. Its in the application that success will be found.

7 Tips to Handle a Part Time Start Up.

17 Jul

7 Tips to Handle a Part Time Start Up.

No prologue today people- straight to the meat. (Sorry vegans.)

1-Make a schedule and stick to it.
We all need a routine. Its a simple thing and most of us just assume going to work, then home, and errands in between is our routine. Wrong! Your routine is what you decide it consists of. I read early in the morning, check emails and then shower et al. After that breakfast and work. Then its home to change for gym. After gym I get dinner then prepare my next day. Lastly I write my articles before bed as I get a creative jones then. Find yours.

2-Do your research.
Know what you’re getting into. The time constraints, the costs, the locale- everything. In business what you don’t know can hurt you.

3-Find a balance.
Life can’t be all work and no play. And this is where scheduling comes in to play. Set aside time for work, your business, sleep, exercise, personal growth and sleep. Can’t find eight hours in a day for rest- think about why. And remember television is your enemy nine out of ten times.

4-Be patient.
Success can be slow. Like chasing down the love of your life. Put in the hours, keep positive and wait for the results. You will succeed if you are patient. Most people quit too soon. They stop a foot short of a diamond field while mining. Or they attempt to recruit everyone they know but two people. And those two that in their mind are solid NOs have the fastest growth. Also approach is key here. Don’t rush people don’t be rude and don’t be cynical. Patience can open a million doors. A simple rule I remember to use is ‘money comes with math and emotions’. And both take time!

5-Bank your profits.
Want to quit your job?
Hate doing sixty hours to your business and thirty five or more to someone else’s?
Remove your profits from your accounts. EVERY SINGLE CENT should go to an account you can’t cash out easily. These profits are not only your future, they are your freedom. Also each dollar that is accruing interest for you is like a little soldier building your fortress of wealth (Superman aint have one of those did he?).

6-Set flexible goals.
Don’t overburden yourself by making what isn’t feasible what you aim to attain. Simple and easy to do. Set small goals. Let those goals be what you can do. Once you obtain these goals you will not only build your confidence but you will have a chain of victories to show others and prove you can build, lead, and most importantly- DELIVER.

7-Take yourself seriously.
Hey folks if you don’t take you seriously I won’t. And neither will John Q public. Have a belief. Have a sense of being the winner. Know you are the best. Cultivate that mind set and remember always- Act As If. Simply put you must project success to succeed.
If you don’t believe you will win why should I? Why should anyone? What you deem factual is! So be the real deal.

The right way

QUIT YOUR JOB

15 Jun

Quit your job.
Seriously, quit your job.
Are you rich yet? Did your job get you to the 7 figure net you always wanted? Are you at least high gross? Did you actually wake up looking to be Just Over Broke?
Is your retirement bullet proof?
Got that Golden Parachute? You don’t ?
Insanity. Quit your job.
You are wasting time making money for other people.
Okay. I’m joking. Yet there is a large kernel of truth in the above mini rant. When you plug away day after day and don’t rise to CEO, or some equally lofty and financially well off position you’re merely a place card. The next you will be along soon enough.
Is that the life you dreamed of? No? Really?
Okay so you don’t quit.
Let’s do this instead-
Work your day job.
Mind your business.
Repeat.
-So you work for the city. Great hours. Great benefits. Union protection. Yet is that union job making you complacent? Is your job keeping you from your max potential. First answer is yes. Real answer-
NO.
When you don’t achieve it is you who loses. You lose the money, the freedom, the time- the Success. Is that the life you want? Of course not. If it was you would be on utube now and not reading this. So let’s embrace reality. Work. And work hard. Give your boss a 101%. Its what you owe yourself. You are always representing you so why would anything be less than amazing. Make your job your center piece.
-Mind your Business. In your free time- WORK. If you don’t build your kingdom who will? At work be the best. At your Business, Be BETTER. What you put in you will get out so do more never less. Vacation now or retire early. Your choice.
-Repeat. Yup. That simple. Repeat these steps until you can’t. And I assume only death will distract a serious business person. What do you want- Some coin now or freedom late? See, everyone makes a choice. What is yours. Mines is freedom. My WHY is toooooo big to give me peace. My WHY is my life. I don’t hope it works. I don’t hope it is enough. It has to be. It can’t be less. It WILL be.
There is nothing you can’t do.
Repeat that daily. Repeat your goals daily. Be the you that is productive hourly. When you aim for less than greatness you won’t even be the kings butler. You will be a slave. Even a butler can rise- WILL YOU?

“What is the distance between someone who achieves their goals consistently and those who spend their lives and careers merely following? The extra mile.”

Liftport.com is amazing!

15 Jun

Liftport.com is amazing.

While not functional, the concept is amazing.  An elevator to space!
From their Empire Avenue profile:

Biography

LiftPort Group is in V2.0.

I started working on the Space Elevator in 2001, as part of a NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts team. In 2003, I created LiftPort to pursue – commercially – the development of an Elevator to Space. In 2007, when the ecomony melted down, our company failed. This year, we are reforming and rebuilding – join us in this adventure!

Some people are surprised when I talk about building a for-profit company around this project. But the reasoning is quite sound – we don’t yet know if an Elevator can be built.

BUT – the technology development in the process of learning – is very valuable: robotics, nanotech, communications. So this is our plan, to commercially develop the components, and along the way discover techniques and eventually build an Elevator to the Sky!

Wanna learn more? Follow me @mlaine or email laine (at) LiftPort (.) com”
So why am I enthralled by this?  Simple
This company is trying to pass the status quo.
First they are trying to get where no one is going before anyone gets there.  this is a valuable business lesson.  Most people want the money and the freedom but that is where the dream ends.  They forget the work.  The planning.  And the rest is smoke and mirrors.  Maybe they get the Cadillac, and the house but they are usually over-leveraged. See people will buy their today’s with their tomorrows.  And the plan is faulty.  this company is playing their hand well.  By being first you get a tremendous advantage.  You not only set a precedent but you reap the rewards and profits.  You never want to be last to the party.
Second they are not only trailblazing but they are looking where no one will.  By attempting the impossible they have created lucrative patents and copyrights.  these ancillary benefits weren’t there until they aimed for the impossible. Whats amazing is that profit can now be derived where none was even imagined.
Are you doing this in your ventures?
Are you literally aiming for the stars or just talking a good game?
Money and opportunity are found where no one looks and few dream to go.  if you will do what others wont you will be successful.  Decide on a course of action and be not dissuaded.

Goal achieved in the flesh

Know YOUR GOAL

5 Jun

Know YOUR GOAL

So I was watching Jay Cutler aka Mr. Olympia at a speaking event. For those of my readers who are like- huh?- Jay is basically the top body builder in the world. People from all over the globe come to compete in the Mr. Olympia. In essence you don’t just walk in and become the champ. You fight and claw your way to the top. And most of your competitors- are former Mr Olympias. Doesn’t it just get better?
I say all this as a preamble.
So let me segway-
Jay was giving a talk, kind of informal and part q&a. And people asked what do you bench?
What do you squat?
Dead-lift?

someone said what do you clear in…..?
And Jay said? I don’t know. I don’t do that. That’s power lifting not bodybuilding.
Said concisely- one is about what you lift one is about what you shape. Power lifters and there bunch are about massive, brute, strength. And they work at it. They put in the hours, no question. But its a different sport. Bodybuilders attain a weight class and size they want. And they don’t just bulk up. They shape it. They even it out. Proportion and mass are balanced. Posing routines are mastered, tans gotten… You get the point.

WHATS YOUR POINT TONY?
Glad you asked.
See Jay didn’t answer. He didn’t get a ‘tude. He pointed out what was His Goal.
He is a body builder not a power lifter. Nuff said. And here in lies the key to today’s lesson: KNOW YOUR GOAL.
Elegant in its simplicity but so powerful.
If you have a goal what is it?
Have you decided?
Is it one goal with a few facets?
Are you trying to build multiple streams of income at once?
If so, brother you might just lose. You see FOCUS. Is the name of the game.
Is your goal- ill be rich. Pretty close. How about my venture will make me rich.
Or I will sign up 8 associates.
I will sell a property a month.
I will save 12 percent of every check I receive.
See the pattern developing?
These are goals. Concise, Focused, you-centric goals.
You-centric. Sounds odd, I know. But think about what it means. Your goal- is YOU specific. See? There’s accountability built into your goal. A dream has now become a goal. A hope is on its path to reality. There’s a specific set of rules to succeed in life. There is no free buffet. Everything has a price.
To be your own boss.
To be independently wealthy.
To be able to live where you want with whom you please and as you please to- all require action. These things require goals,
a plan- a written plan,
A commitment
A belief
And consistency.
Now we have spoke on many of these things and there are more steps and further breakdowns we will discuss as we progress down this road together.
But just as I have committed to this blog you have to commit to ONE, 1, GOAL.
Know this goal. If I asked you at 3am what your goal is would you curse me or have a succinct answer?
And guess what. I don’t expect you will have but one goal. Or even one dream. Life is a series of small victories chained together to create a dynamic, fruitful, epic that will have been a greater ride than the destination. Use THIS Goal as a stepping stone.
Set it. Focus it. Smash it out of the park. Do your end zone dance. And then, rinse and repeat. AKA start the process over. The first goal met will fuel you to rise past the next 5 and so forth.
Questions?
Thoughts or concerns?
Need help focusing your goal?
Looking for a part time venture to expand your horizons?
Itching to fire the boss?
