Consistency is Everything

24 Nov

He who can be consistent will go the farthest.

Okay enough of my fortune cookie flow.
Seriously though folks, it’s the person who sticks to their gym schedule, eats right every day, sleeps right, who gets the killer physique.

It’s the investor who studies the markets and tracks the mac d indicators and does their due diligence on options and puts etc- who makes a killing.
Regardless of your venture, if you are consistent you will reach the finish line.
Talent is nothing without consistency.
Look at the pitchers in the MLB.
They have to throw consistently, not just fast, but consistent.

What can you do to increase your consistency?

4 Elements to Greatness

4 Elements to Greatness

It’s 2013, everyone is making goals and becoming a new person. And for many its the same goals as last year. Tenacity is good no question- but its time to skew focus.

There are 4 key ingredients to true greatness and for 2013 I want us all to embrace them even before setting a goal. Set your goals? No prob- just take this is first.

Belief
Nothing great is done without belief. If you don’t believe in your cause or goal you have no power. You will not move forward. You may not even tread water. When you aren’t confident- LIE. Even to yourself. Belief comes from within and from previous successes. See what you have done and believe you Will do more.
Belief in U.
If you don’t believe you can do it- you can’t. when you do it know it is all you. No one helps you. When I’m in the gym I have to lift off the weight. I work by the motto that if you can’t take it off the rack you don’t deserve to lift it. Right there I force my belief to grow. I literally put my mind into the muscle and shape my results thru my belief. Do you see how simple that is? How we can all do it. I bench press into the 300s. I get help. But I do it. No one lifts, they just make sure I don’t die. Get there.

Consistency
Without consistency you can’t do anything. You are recruiting to build your team?
You have to work the system everyday.
You blog? blog daily.. There is no blog if you don’t blog a lot. Blog often. And keep blogging. That may not have been said eloquently but you get the point. You have to work at what you do religiously.
Michael Jordan worked at being great. He was consistent with his gym time. He practiced. And practiced. And practiced. You have to work at it over and over. There are no breaks until you reach the mountain top.
I love the quote ‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead,’ as it shows the level of dedication needed.

Discipline
To get to the top you have to be great. And the way to greatness lies in discipline. What you do daily is what you become. Let’s look at the meriam webster definition:
Definition of DISCIPLINE
1: punishment.
2: instruction.
3: a field of study.
4: training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character.
5a : control gained by enforcing obedience or order.
5b : orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior.
c : self-control.
6: a rule or system of rules governing conduct or activity.
Discipline is almost in its simplest form taking the other three elements and combining them simultaneously.
Loving what you do, and doing it consistently is discipline. Belief that you can and will do it is derived from discipline. When you make it your mission to live disciplined you will see greatness invariably.

Loving what you do
You’re wasting your time if your heart isn’t there. You have to love what you do. It has to be synonymous with you. I have a day job. Love it too folks. I have a business. Love that too. However when I stumbled onto Ray Higdon and how I could blog to build an empire I was astounded. And as he said, if he could do it so could anyone. And once I started this blog it was over. I’ve come to love the blogging and guest editorials I’ve been blessed to write. It has been an honor. You see writing was my first love. I’ve written stories, raps, songs, poetry, editorials, and now blogs. But my true love was always present- The Writing.
When you love what you do you already feel successful. However this feeling will grow and will lead to external success if not worldwide success.
See you at the top.

Don’t Reinvent The Wheel.

22 Jul

Today’s article is going to be random in its cohesiveness but bear with me- it will be cogent by its end.

-What is your mindset?
What is it that you have told yourself you will do? What path have you created for yourself to follow? You see the mind will do what you tell it. And if you supply your mid with a simple concept, a seed idea- it will do the rest. We as entrepreneurs have to learn to keep to the basics. Merely getting the idea in your mind so it is deeply rooted and doing this three to five times a day will cause a tremendous mindset shift. This shift will move you from dreaming about success and wealth to having a wealth of success.

-Are you consistent in your actions? (Not just your speech)
This is a key concept a lot of people gloss over or outright ignore while paying lip service to the concept. Everyday we must do it all. WE must achieve. And the greatest step after mindset creation is consistency. By consistently acting in a manner that exudes business people will come for the ride. When people see that you are the same day in and day out. They will want to be with you. When they know that your actions speak louder than your words, and that the two match- then you will have true success. And I am not speaking of a few quick sales, or some opt-ins for a few weeks. No. I’m talking repetitive sales.
Repetitive growth.
Residual income.
Success.

-Don’t reinvent the wheel.
A lot of times the path before us is ready and right in front of us. If you have joined a team
And the leader/organizer has a blueprint for success- do it their way. Now I know from experience that not all uplines are created equal. And I know that some have no clue what’s going on in today’s marketing world. In fact they may even be half wrong.
But are they producing?
You joined right so it must work. Sorry to say it so crass but its that simple folks.
A mentor in a venture I left consistently does close to a quarter million dollars a year.
For about twenty years.
Recap:
$250,000.00 a year for 20 years.
Total:
Five million dollars aka $5,000,000.00.
His son does a million a year.
I’ll stop the dog and pony show now. Yet if we look at his results and the results of his son we see that the system works when you work it. I made a good profit before I left.
And it was simply from doing what he said. He said hit the ground running.
Act with urgency.
Make lists.
Do self improvement.
And I did everything he said. And it worked. Quickly too. And the only things I did were what he suggested. Heck!, I skipped a few steps thinking I was smart and still made money. Let’s imagine if I had not reinvented the wheel and just followed through one hundred percent…

-Follow through.
That’s it. No long diatribe. No fancy speech. Follow through. In golf it may define your swing. In love it is its definition. In life it is everything. When you don’t finish what you start you are almost worthless. Its equivalent to quitting. And if that’s you- quit the race.
And if its not- you will succeed.
And if it is and you want to change it- I’m here. Let’s win together.
I’ll show you a few tools and some cool concepts- most of which you can implement free. Let’s do it folks.

Its not the car its the driver.

21 Jul

Its not the car its the driver.

True story: I once raced an Audi A8 in an 86 camry- the 4 cylinder at that. And I won.
I know most of you are laughing or logging off your laptops and ipads in sheer disgust at such a boast but let me tell my story.
So its the last light before the west side highway and the guy next to me in the A8 was sneering at my hoopti (low cost, no frills car). So I tapped the gas petal perhaps too aggressively and he replied in kind. When the light went green he was gone. Off the line he left me looking limp with no cialis in sight. However about a half mile up when the traffic thickened I not only caught up but passed him. At this leg of the race he was outclassed in two ways. My car was a good deal smaller so I could get in and out of tight spots easier. Also I was a little younger and my nature a bit more zealous so I risked a little more than he did. I weaved in and out of traffic like a mad man. And by the time we exited for the Deegan he was behind me.
I will add that he had more to lose by driving more aggressively as his car was six figures and mine was three. However in this instance it can also be said that he was shown up by a hoopti while driving performance unleashed.

The moral of my story?
Its not your business that will hold you back. It is only you who can do that. I don’t care what venture, product, or concept you are involved with. When you don’t do what is needed you will always lose. Sales and recruiting are arenas of focus.
Are you focused?
If you aren’t focused you could give away gold and still go home with the exact amount of units you left your home with.
Do you go the extra mile?
Giving your team that little extra push, those few minutes of your day exactly when needed will fuel your results. Remember winners do more to get more.
Are you risking all you’ve got to get where you want to be?
Nothing is gained when nothing is risked. If you don’t put in the hours, the dollars and risk the rejection you won’t succeed. Bruce Jenner had to work harder to get his gold medal. And his failures were public! And so were his victories. Think about that.

These are simple questions folks. What are your answers.
In everything you do in life from love to sales, to brushing your teeth you only get what you put in. A better toothbrush isn’t the key to cleaner teeth. Brushing three to four times a day for the prescribed amount of time is the key. Same in love. Same in business. The keys are simply. Its in the application that success will be found.

Good is the enemy of great.
(Hat tip to KayK).

Good is the enemy of great.
Wow. That is amazing. I’m not a nut. I’m not stoned people. No I simply stumbled upon the only concept I may ever need to motivate myself.
In life you can be good and it might get you to second place. That’s cool. But like Bruce Jenner I aspire for the top. I want to be the king olympiad. The guy who got silver rarely smiles. The guy who got bronze is feeling like the Boss. Why? He can eclipse silver next year. The difference between good and great is the same as first and second. Anyone can be top five, top three. It takes a champion to be first. It takes a champion to get the GOLD. And sadly we aren’t all made to be First place. Wait, I recant that statement. We aren’t all made to be first. To be Gold. And that is OK. What I simply encourage we all do is aim to be the best. If your goals are small so shall your results be. If your dreams are small you likewise will achieve just about nothing. Now if your needs are small, by all means do you my friends. Yet no one wins when you don’t aim for greatness. Your playing small will not honor your ancestors or be the proper action for the globe as a whole.

Good. Sounds well, good enough. That reminds me of second place which in my world is the second loser. You heard me people. Second place is the first loser.
What would ever be cool in failure. Sorry olympians- but you know you didn’t go for the silver. When I order steak I don’t want the sides. I want the steak. The sides are a bonus. And also good enough sucks. Sorry if that’s abrasive but its honest. Giving your best is acceptable. Good enough isn’t. And as such good can abjectly be said to equate failure when considered in comparison to great.

Let’s review:
Good: satisfactory in quality, quantity, or degree.
Great: unusual or considerable in degree, power, intensity.

When we look at these definitions from Dictionary.com we see something startling. Its appears to indicate that there is an A student and a C student to put it simply. Now both students get the job done, they both pass muster. However one is a champion and one simply had completion on the play. A lot of NFL players make touchdowns and game winning plays, but every year there is only one superbowl winner. The second place guy was good- Real Good. However they weren’t great. That’s the difference in success. You can sell a few ppl, sign up a few more. The Greats though close massively.
Its time to be Great people.
Are you committed to the extra mile?
Will you exceed even your own expectations?
Forget Superman. Be the hero in your story.

#thriveorsurvive.

If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have the capacity at the beginning.

Tell yourself YOUR TRUTH, not the TRUTH.

11 Jun

Tell yourself YOUR TRUTH, not the TRUTH.

People will never tell you how great you are. Ok so it sounds like a pessimistic start but bear with me.
In life you may be the champ and never be acknowledged as so- FACT. But that’s irrelevant. If you are aiming high solely for the accolades you are only going to be the stepping stone that others step on to get to the top. That being said today we will focus on creating your own truth.

-Create your own truth. Daily.
You are the BEST. FACT. Always believe that. Create your own truth daily. Now first you should create a basic truth. If you box- I’m better than Ali.
If you sell- I’m the number one sales agent in North America.
If you recruit- I recruit more people than Noah did animals for his ark!
Get the drift? You must first create a truth of greatness in order to be the Greatest. Sounds simple but this small step has proven quite elusive for many people.
So first establish that you are the greatest. Second daily affirm that truth with a sub-truth. This can be as simple as I will smile more than anyone today. Or I will get 5 new names and email addresses. Simple right?
Remember do it daily and success is a given.

-Believe this truth even when it isn’t.
Simple fact is you won’t always feel Great.
You have to believe you are great before every victory and every defeat. People will not always believe in you but you must believe in your greatness even when you are not. Jay Cutler aka Mr. Olympia tore his bicep, and he will compete again. He lost a Mr. Olympia only to reclaim the crown. Another great is Muhammad Ali who lost his belt only to reclaim it. No one thought he would. And he DID. You see it isn’t always going to seem the truth, your greatness that is. Yet you must dig into your inner being and even after you have failed 99 times you stand again and re-embark on the journey to greatness.

-Repeat this truth.
Repeating affirmations and other confidence boosters becomes more than cool words. This simple exercise will over time lead to you convincing yourself that it is truth. An once this truth becomes self evident true growth and astounding results will occur rapidly.
Now that you have the conviction. You have to use it. Any new skill unused is useless. We don’t grow to not achieve. We grow to gain. And as we gain knowledge, wealth, power, or compassion we are required to give of these things to better ourselves and others until the victory is magnified.
Believe you are great and you will be great.
