I WOULD BE A SITH

I WOULD BE A SITH

So, most people will hate me for this, but hey I’m honest.  I couldn’t be a Jedi.  Denying everything I might ever want.  Ignoring urges, needs, and desires to be broke, technically homeless, and wear snazzy robes?  Nope not for me.  Sorry.  See I like Lamborghinis. Ferraris, Porsches, and M3s oh my!

Back to focus though- first I apologize for the lack of articles.  I had some technically difficulties and had to write on scratch paper until I could get my tech back to perfection.  As I was saying- I would be a Sith.

The Sith are comparably powerful, self indulgent, and are still masters of their craft.  All things that most people when they are honest will agree that they approve of.

-No one wakes up denying a lust for success.

Everyone wants to be successful.  To complete goals and dreams gives a sense of success, confidence and poise.  People who build from success to success are guess what?  Extremely successful you see I’ve never met a person who wanted to be third place.  Heck, no one goes to the Olympics for silver!  We all want to be winners.  To triumph where others fail and where few shall venture is the very pinnacle of existence in some cultures and for many many people.  Have you never not wanted more? Pardon the double negative but I write it purposely to convey my point.  When you were little and you played monopoly you wanted to win.  You may have bought the crap properties but you had a strategy that you thought led down the path to victory.  I rest my case.

-Sith chase their desires.

When you were young, and maybe even in your older age (I digress I’m in my 30s) you wanted things.  To race cars, build a motorcycle, relive the movie easy riders.
Today many of us have traded freedom for security. What I mean is that we have traded jobs for dreams and mortgages for adventures. Now there’s no problem with growing up- can’t be Peter Pan forever. Yet slaving all day under a boss is surely not the American dream. Take me for example. I want to work, but for myself. I don’t want a boss.
I don’t want a mortgage, unless there is some tax gains to be had.
I don’t want to need a union.
I don’t want the economy to dictate my employability or impede my financial goals.
I do want freedom to do as I please.
I do want time to watch my children grow.
I do want to fire my boss.
I do want to vacation anywhere, at the drop of a dime.
Don’t you?
Isn’t it time to chase dreams?
Can’t work be the same amount of passion and fun as activities you control and build wealth on?

-Sith focus.

Simple point to grasp. What you focus on you will obtain. Focused on fun. You will get it. Focused on girls, you’ll have ten.
Focus dictates your reality. If you are not focused on achieving greatness you will be nothing. Sith focused on achieving power and greatness. Shouldn’t you focus on the same if you want to leave the 9 to 5 grind behind?

-Sith hone their craft.
You want to be wealthy. You will use options or perhaps real estate or an MLM. No matter the path to wealth and freedom you choose you must work at the skills it takes to accomplish it. Flippers need to know variables, comps, tax rules, et al. Options traders must know candle stick charts, timing, and when to get in and out of an option. And in MLM you have to know how to identify your warm market, seize your cold one, and solve problems for people.
In any venture and all ventures you must learn the skills needed. And this is a lifetime process.
Ted williams talked to pitchers to learn their habits. He examined the game. He used the sports casters and news reporters hatred to fuel him. He worked day in and day out at his task and his reward was true baseball greatness.
Work at being great and you will be.

There is nothing wrong with being only partially altruistic when chasing your dreams. But if you focus and give back you will succeed. If you practice daily. You will succeed.

Let desires and wants add fuel to your why to get you to your dream accomplishment.

8 Quick steps to success in your Venture.

8 Quick steps to success in your Venture.

So a lot of people I come across day to day are in direct marketing or similar ventures. Some of you also sell life insurance or own small businesses such as pastries for parties or car washes on the go.
And everyone is looking to increase sales, and convert your maybes to yes’ or to business partners.
Well below I’ve listed 8 simple steps to get you there.

-Motivate.
If you don’t motivate your team they won’t get anywhere. Sales don’t get closed, members aren’t recruited, and conversions don’t convert. All people need something to motivate them and monet works but add something in to spice it up. A contest, a goal, anything. And lastly- you have to motivate yourself. If you are not motivated your team won’t be.

-Lead by example.
This is a pet peeve of mine. If you don’t do it they won’t. I’ve had a few bosses that required but didn’t. And for my coworkers and I this was quite horrendous. It was a self defeating action on the bosses part. Workers, partners, trainees-Everyone wants to follow the leader. Everyone needs the example you set to show the way and to get them fired up. When you lead by example you are a leader.

-Inspire.
Inspire your team. They should want to come to meetings and leave fired up to return. When you walk in the room you should blaze a path that sets everyone alight and makes them want a part of you. A piece of your mojo if you will.
Find what inspires you, perhaps its your WHY- and focus on it.

-Mentor.
Simply put teach. Find people who need you. people who want to succeed and simply need a push. Make a list of these people and help them systematically. A mentor doesn’t tell you what to do. They show you. And more importantly: THEY HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE. (More on accountability in a later post)

-Coach.
Get them there. A coach is a leader and a coax-er. A coach squeezes that last but out of a team member and then helps them find more. Coaches get you past the finish line. A coach gets his or her team to the next goal. And the next one. Remember positivity- trumps anger, yelling, and put downs.

-Teamwork.
Your team includes you. All members work all members gain. Whether you are the leader, the boss, the gofer, or any member- you have to put the work in. Everyone has to give equally. Participate to your fullest. And as Lou Ferigno would say: ‘Give a hundred and ten percent. Every time. All the time.’

-Vision.
Do you have a vision?
Does you team have a collective one that encompasses all their unique goals needs and visions?
If so great. Awesome. Simply say it aloud at every meeting or group outing at least twice: at the opening and closing.
Don’t have a Vision?
Get out the white board and flow chart the groups perceptions of what a vision is first. After that repeat the flow chart process to obtain the actual Vision for the group.
Your group Vision should be dynamic, successful, and attainable.
A Vision is a form of a Goal and goals are the foundation of success.

And the last and final step:
WIN

Get it done folks.

7 things to do to get your day and your business running right

7 things to do to get your day and your business running right

1)Wake up early.
-Never underestimate the power of an early start. Also you are not losing time or wasting it.

2) Spend 20 minutes on meditation and self help/self learning.
-A day should not go by where you do not spend a minimum of 20 minutes to an hour working on bettering you, your global knowledge base, or your business acumen and people skills. This is key people. Meditation helps. Before bed and upon waking- I state it in that order because a cleared mind before bed gets you better results the next day

3) Make 5 new connections daily.
-Irregardless of your business or dreams you need people. Word of mouth is probably the strongest biz builder in the world. The internet is a close second, but that’s a different discussion. People will always sing your virtues if you do quality work. But you have to go out and meet these people first.
And lastly:
Always get their contact info.

4) Create new content daily.
I don’t care what your business is or your goal. Everyday give back, create value. Your content is a lifeline. And when you give you get. So, teach and set an example and the path you will blaze will be long and prosperous.

5) Set a budget.
-If you were opening a McDonald’s or a Levitz or a pawnshop you would need initial capital and money to bankroll monthly expenses until you not only turn a profit but, a continuous one. One you can live off of.

6) Put it on paper (and say aloud).
Write out your dreams.
Write out your hopes and plans.
Make it a hand written obligation to yourself. Write out what you want, when you want it by and a very, very specific date on this piece of paper.

7) Repeat the process.
‘Nuff said bub’.- to quote Wolverine.

BONUS STEP:
Make a TO DO List DAILY. And it must be hand written. Before bed or upon waking it must be written and reviewed. and should you pen this missive in the AM, read it and double check it before bed. You will find your mind clearer and your dreams. More peaceful.
