Your Job Is Killing Your Dream

3 Sep

Your Job is Your Master.
So when you rely on YOUR job to survive/make ends meet- You Are A Slave.
Accept it. It is you.
I’m a jerk?
Don’t like this train of thought?
Tough.
Feel free to slap yourselves.

The hard truth is always least accepted.

A lot of us, me included needed a steady job at least once in our lives. An edge to get ahead economically.
Fiscal constraints kill dreams and marriages. Data tells us that.
However fiscal safety nets are now trapping us as a people.
Now if you love your job or don’t want more than a J-O-B, fine. We all have a place in life. Live to the edge of your existence.

The rest of this article is for the folks who want to be not just small business owners but successful, dominating, powerhouses in the industries they choose to rule.
And yes folks that is my mindset and I hope it is yours as well.
How can you conquer if you are not mentally Conan the Barbarian?
There is no tomorrow.
There is no next time.
Your job is the one thing holding you back-
Why you ask?
Its a handicap.
Ever see the people who walk with a cane but they carry it? Yeah you have.
They are ham-stringed.
AKA they are stuck.
They won’t run. They need the cane to walk. Wait though, they are carrying the cane not using the cane. Idiocy? Not quite.
Fear- now we are on the right track.
Dependency stops growth.

How can U be the best YOU- if something else has to support U?
There is no you when there is a pedestal to stand on. Oh, wait. That’s not a pedestal. It’s ankle iron.

I’m not trying to incite a riot.
I don’t want people eating bankruptcy papers instead of steak.
However if you aren’t willing to let go of security you Will Not have Freedom.

It is that simple.
Be ready folks.
Make plans.
Have an end goal.
Have a time table.
Your mentality has to be When am I Leaving.
Not one day I’m ghost.

Your motivation, ultimately, is freedom or financial celibacy- AKA One income source YoU don’t control.

Let me know where you want to be folks.
My lifestyle already dictates I need more income.
More Freedom.
More Choices.
Let me know where you stand and I’ll throw in 3 hours of 1 on1 training.

Quick Marketing Lesson…

28 Aug

A Professor explained Marketing to his students:

1) You see a gorgeous girl in a party, you go to her & say I’m rich marry me. That’s “Direct Marketing”

2) You attend a party & your friend goes to a girl & pointing at you tells her He is very rich, marry him. That’s “Advertising”

3) A Girl walks up to you & says You rich, can U marry me? “That’s Brand Recognition”

4) You say I’m very rich marry me & she slaps you. “That’s Customer Feedback”

5) You say I’m very rich marry me & she introduces you to her husband. “That’s Demand & Supply Gap”

6) Before you say I’m rich, marry me, your wife arrives. That’s “Restriction from
Entering New Market”

Small Goals Win Wars

23 Aug

Small Goals Win Wars.
That’s right folks. You don’t win the war by Conquering the country.
You take one port at a time.
You take one fortress at a time.
Bridge by bridge, city by city- small goals always win wars.

And so now you are saying, hey Tony why are you talking of war when we need more teachings on how to make money and be successful?
Well folks because the same lessons apply to business.

To win over clients, you have to be relentless but not ruthless.

How you ask?
Small Goals.
That’s it.
You need more leads?
Make your social media influence bigger one day at a time.
Aim to make 5 new friends on twitter a month. That’s it. 5. Let them be targeted people. Those who want a business. Who have a dream.
Apply the same logic to Facebook.
Have tumblr or other forms of blogs and social interaction? Mirror your activities on those sites.

Everyday, every week, every month should have a set goal.

In week 1 add a few followers on twitter and facebook.

In week 2 add followers in tumblr and foursquare.

In week 3 make sure they opt-in to your offerings.

In week 4 make sure you send them amazing content. Content that vastly supersedes that previous weeks.

In this manner you create attainable goals and content matter that reaches people.
Effective material and attainable goals don’t only make you money.
They have the benefit of providing a clear and easy path for all recruits/ and or partners.
What you can do, your team should be able to do.
I don’t care if you’re a team of 1- you need a plan that everyone can duplicate.

After the social media goals,
Repeat the same formula with your sales goals.
And then with your conversion goals.
Remember some people are only 1 time sales.
And some people are great conversions that build a dream along side you.
Lead a team. Build a dream.

Do it incrementally.

He who knows the enemy and himself will never in a hundred battles be at risk….(Sun-Tzu; The Art of War. Fourth Century B.C)

School is over-

You packed up your college dorm, and went back to moms.  Maybe you took a crappy job.  heck you may have a decent job, and are still quite nervous.

Now School aka the university or college you chose as a naive young teen readying yourself for beer pong and an education hopefully taught you a thing or two.  If not, here’s some quotes I found online from a site or three to get you rolling.

  1. “When you’re on your death bed, you’re not going to wish you watched more TV. Spend your free time with family and friends!” – thuyta
  2. “Life is about doing things, not watching others do them on T.V, grasp every opportunity.” – ozzieuk
  3. “What feels like an important thing right now will not be in 5-10 years. So, don’t stress.” – madmoo
  4. “Go where you need to be and where you are needed.” – miographics
  5. “Your accomplishments are yours and no one can take them away from you.” – mrspanda
  6. “Make sure to save a little bit of money. Make your money work for you!” – matt_garry
  7. “Take every opportunity that moves you forward!” – Bob Philpin
  8. “Brace for impact…with the real world.” – Donna Coley Austin
  9. “Think outside the box.” – Ann Haatrop

7 Simple Ways to Boost Your Productivity Steve Tobak

7 Simple Ways to Boost Your Productivity

Feeling overworked, overwhelmed and overloaded? You have way more control over your time and productivity than you realize.

2.2k SHARES | Share this article
We’re always complaining about how little time we have and how overwhelmed we are. We whine about all the interruptions and communication overload. We spend all sorts of time reading books and searching for ways to improve our time management and personal productivity. It’s ironic, I know.

Well, get this. Most of your productivity drain is your own doing. You give in to social media distraction because you crave a quick fix for attention. You spend too much time in your inbox because it makes you feel important. You waste ridiculous amounts of time doing things that don’t really matter because you choose to do them.

You know what you need to do: Work. Provide for yourself and your loved ones. And you know what matters in life: Having fun. Spending time with family and friends. So do all that. Don’t do the other stuff, or at least separate them so you’re aware that you’ve chosen to waste your time.

Here are seven ideas to help you get started:

1. Don’t tweet during the day. I don’t know about you, but for me, alcohol is off limits until after 5. Why? Because it destroys your productivity. Well, guess what? So does social media. Do your tweeting, blogging, posting, status updating, whatever, after work, like while you’re watching the tube.

2. Quit organizing. You know all those different methods for organizing stuff like your emails and files? I’ve never done any of that. Okay, maybe I do a little, but the absolute minimal amount. I have the biggest email inbox you’ve ever seen. It goes back years. So what? You need to find something? Use search. PC isn’t good enough? Get a Mac.

3. Use hard stops. I had a lunch meeting the other day. At the start, my associate announced that he had a hard stop at 2pm. That drove the meeting. And guess what? We were done at 2. It’s called a deadline. Deadlines force discipline. That’s why deadlines work. Use them.

4. Don’t do more; do less. It’s called prioritization. You know, what we all used to do before self help, time management, and personal productivity became big business. Decades ago I learned to classify To Dos as priority A (time critical), B (important), or C (everything else). When your As are done, take on the Bs. After a few years you learn that you never get to the Cs. And you know what? It never matters.

5. Learn to say no and never say maybe. I like getting attention. I like helping people. It’s always been a big motivator for me. When I realized that saying no was a bigger disappointment for me than it was for whoever was asking me to do something, it got easier to say. Don’t know what to say no to? If it’s not a goal, a priority, important, or fun, say no. And never say maybe. That’s just being controlling and self-important.

6. Mute your devices. When you’re supposed to be working and getting things done, close your email application or mute your PC or Mac so you don’t hear the chime. Ignore that tug to respond right away to every request. If you really want to do it right, set aside a small chunk of time the same time every day to email. Also, never answer a call unless you’re expecting it or have time for it. Even if it’s your boss.

7. Work at home. Most executives spend their days in meetings. Carving out significant chunks of time to get any real work done is a challenge. So I got in the habit of doing presentation and budget work at home. A lot of my strategizing and thinking, too. If you’ve got young kids running around, though, that can make it tough.

Here’s the thing. What used to be our priorities, the things that made our careers successful and fulfilling, our lives meaningful and happy, have somehow become optional.

The long term benefits that come from working, playing, thinking, feeling, exercising, eating right, and sleeping, now take a backseat to the instant gratification of distraction, addiction, self-importance, attention seeking, and minutiae.

To fit all that in, our lives have become overloaded and overwhelming. It doesn’t have to be that way. You set the priorities. You make the choices. You have way more control than you realize.

Silver, Physical Wealth, and Beating Inflation

29 Jul

Silver, Physical Wealth, and Beating Inflation.

How does silver tie in with inflation? Simple. Physical wealth is the best way to beat inflation.
That’s right beat inflation.
Everyone says that Gold is a great way to hedge inflation. And I’m sure it is.
But I don’t want to simply survive economic collapse, booms, ups, downs, inflation, deflation, and or stagnation.
I’m more interested in beating inflation.
And silver is a treat that is in short demand globally.
The global supply is shrinking exponentially and quite a few countries are in hoard mode already.
You see silver isn’t just pretty. It is still minted as currency and used in 1000s of electronic and machine related applications. So you see what silver does is solve problems in essence. It purifies water, conducts electricity better than any other metal and so on goes the list.
So when we realize that silver as a form of physical wealth is inherently sensible and extremely plausible there is only one conclusion to be had:

That collecting silver as a form of physical wealth will build our estate, beat inflation in the long run and is cost effective as well.

Cost effective?
Yes folks. An ounce of Gold costs the same as 50+ ounces of silver. At that rate you are literally hoarding physical wealth without the creepy guy next door behavior.
Don’t want the bullion pictured?

Then Numismatics may be your cup of tea. Sealed, graded, and kept from the elements- numismatic silver can be a great form of physical wealth as well.

Numismatics can appreciate rather well to boot folks. Some have value to collectors that will seem unrealistic. But the market dictates the terms, and supply and demand dictate value. At any given time any product will be worth what the market is willing to pay for it. And quite a few numismatic silver coins that have been kept pristine have exceeded the wildest dreams of their owners. One coin, that is only a .999 troy ounce of silver went for 34,000 give or take $100.00.
Literally.
Amazingly real. Amazingly factual.
Physical wealth is a great hedge against inflation.
Silver collecting is a great hobby you can enjoy with the kids or spouse as well.

Now your banker and or investment advisor will always tell you to diversify.
Diversify, Diversify, Diversify, Diversify.
It keeps you safe. It protects your interests, it saves you money.
Yeah. Sure.
And folks that can work. And at times it does work. I won’t lie or malign the financial institutions. I’m simply pointing out what works for me. What I feel safe with.
I have a retirement account.
I trade stocks.
And I invest in Silver aka Physical Wealth.

Will I beat the market?
I sure as hell hope so!

Will I beat inflation?
Only time will tell but I am confident that I will.

Disclaimer:
Folks I’m not a licensed financial advisor.
I am licensed in many fields such as life insurance, etc.
However I am not giving you advise or financial planning. The above is simply to let you know what I do. Consider this an OpEd- you know like when the times let’s an economist or ex politician rant sensibly.
Yup that’s what this is. My educated guess at how I might make money. At the time of this writing I am also not invested in any stock that were you to buy it I’d make a profit.
So folks go for the gusto- and the below quote- well that’s the Olympics.
And me- I just love Silver and Physical Wealth.
