Meditation,  it isn’t just for Dogs

3 Sep

He can, why can’t you?

As funny as this picture is meditation is a vastly functional tool.
If you are building an empire, taking a test or just a regular old human being this should be an integral part of your day.

Aim for 5 minutes the first 2 weeks and add 5 minutes every week thereafter culminating in 15 minutes.

Word of advice – your mind will wonder , Just focus on your breathing.

Take the Leap of Faith

31 Aug

This is fantastically factual.

I’ve taken 3 HUGE leaps of Faith in the last month.

And damn have I been blessed!!!!!!!
When you step out on faith everything will change,  but it will change based on how you embrace it.

In fear or in true faith.

We were meant to live lives of greatness not wage slavery.

Step out on faith and I’ll see you on the other side.

Lance Armstrong has nothing on a guy in this position lol.

All jokes aside motivation isn’t always there for everyone the minute they wake up.

But here’s why you want to seek it out before it finds you.

My brother said poverty is a great motivator and he is right.

But if you are like me you don’t want to be broken just to find success.
Set a habit of reading and meditating daily.

Set a habit of reminding yourself every time you wake why you are grateful for and what it whom  you are putting in the relentless effort for.

Say your affirmations every morning and night.

Make a vision book as well.
Follow these steps and progress is a given.

Quality Kills Competition

21 Jan

I was running errands and decided I wanted a vegetable patty from a family owned establishment that makes beef, veggie, and chicken patties.
The whole menu is only10 items.
And there was a crowd as well.

So what are the lessons here:

*Quality
The product is the best I’ve ever had and the Sunday line is always out the door when area churches close.
The menu items are all made fresh daily as well.
That is a great selling point in my opinion as I hate frozen food and preservatives.

*Fair Pricing aka value
Over the last decade the price has barely gone up.
Now maybe you’re thinking – bro they make it up on volume!
Damn right!
And how is that a problem?
It isn’t.
Also if they buy in bulk it isn’t a problem.
Based on the crowd I see every time I go their pricing must be great.
And from what I’ve paid their “competitors” I know it is cheaper.
Which leads to the next point-
They are offering an incredible value based on their target audience, and area.
This is just solid business.
Offer the fairest price you can while still creating value, and of course putting some coin in your pocket ;).

*Narrow Focus
This may be the smartest thing they do- and that we all should as well as entrepreneurs.
As the business flourished there wasn’t a massive push to expand their product line. Nope, they just stuck to what works.
A lot of small businesses want to expand product lines and SKUS but this can clog production and throw customers for a loop.
As the old saying goes, If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

If your main tee line sells 500k units as is- maybe switch the color palette, not add new designs that are risky.
If you sell rims for trucks, skip doing air flow systems.

Every business grows around the moves the boss makes.
So be sure to make your best moves- no half stepping!

2 Things to Focus on for Immediate Success

27 Nov

1) Focus on what you’re grateful for.

2) Focus on income producing activities first.

1- Every morning I start off my day with a shower and reciting a list of what I am grateful for that morning. Usually I say the list out loud as it seems too resonate deeper for me.

Whatever method you prefer I suggest you begin this daily habit immediately. As this habit has taken root I find I’m happier, healthier, and more productive. It’s easy to get down on yourself, especially when you’re building a business. The hours can seem endless and the sales non-existent at times.
A lost sale can be crushing to the ego.
But making a strong habit of focusing on the good things will make you a better entrepreneur. I promise.

2- I used to get up and check my emails and messages asap. This created more stress than it relieved actually.
What I thought was productive use of my time was a drag on my time.
Unless you have specific clientele that need access to you 24-7, skip the immediate check of messages in all formats.
Focus instead on income producing activities.
If you get paid to write, write.
If you make money closing deals or life insurance policies, then by all means close them asap. Hit the day with a focused mind and a plan- and that will produce income faster than seeing how many followers you gained.

Why will this create immediate success?
Because you will have changed your outlook and perspective, as well as laser targeted what will really make you money.

Time is the most valuable and precious commodity, so make sure you are using it right.

Play the Game

27 Nov

It’s pretty simple.
If you want to lose weight eat right.
If you need help, ask for it.

That’s it. There is nothing more powerful than the moment you reach out and seize the day. Ask for help, commit to the product, whatever it is you need to do- DO IT.

I’m not gonna lecture you or throw in some zippy advice.
The meme speaks for itself.

Master One Income Stream

21 Nov

Now everyone says you need multiple income streams.
And in most cases they are right.
Warren Buffet says you need multiple income streams.
He is arguably one of the greatest investors of all time, if not the number one.

However, today I have a different strategy for you.

Master One Income Stream.
Period.
A lot of newbies want to build a business with 4-6 methods of income.
But, if you could master one sector, let’s say life insurance, and build it up to a 6 or 7 figure business – wouldn’t that be Uber sensible?

Focus can be an amazing tool.
If you simply apply all of your efforts, passion, and focus to mastering one income stream it is quite possible you will have recurring revenue.

Now after that, move on to the next step.
Rinse and repeat.

How can You do this repeatedly you ask?
Let’s chat for details.

WRONG FOCUS

5 Nov

WRONG FOCUS
ACTIVITY VS. PRODUCTIVITY

So I harp a lot on Focus. Without focus we are prone to failure. Focus can make or break you though. Focus channeled incorrectly, will in all probability
Kill your business, dreams, and entrepreneurial spirit faster than you can imagine.
And the biggest case of Wrong Focus is simply focusing on
ACTIVITY VSM PRODUCTIVITY.

-Activity.
Activity is merely motion. But misdirected motion achieves nothing. Imagine a baseball player, a major leaguer swinging wild. Like every pitch is whatever. Ugh! Jeter gets paid for skill. Ted Williams, Jordan, even Steve Jobs- these are all men who Focused on more than simply creating motion. To get motion only, that’s great for husky guys like me in the gym. We sweat and that works lol. But in my business I can run a muck and just hope that enough action will equate victory. Nope. See boxing. Boxers need to learn the opponents. They don’t just throw punches. Now back to Steve Jobs. As he was a quick innovator in the last. Decade of his life he didn’t just flood the market with crap. There is a story that he carried an early iphone around for two weeks and then flipped because the screen scratched too easy. He wasn’t worried about quick turn around. To sum it up you have to be more than action. You don’t just go to work, you go and give your all. Running in place creates action but gets you nowhere

-Productivity.
Productivity is the goal, the dream, the honey pot. Truly productive people make moves all day. Even when they are asleep they move forward. There is never a loss.
Productivity is staying on task and meeting deadlines. Ever seen a jerk union member? He doesn’t meet deadlines he pads his overtime. Jerk. A good union worker meets deadlines. He’s on time ready to work and create. He isn’t a dredge, he’s a cog in the machine who realizes he is integral to the projects completion.
Another example- Your Savings. So you have 50 large in the bank, but PJ Morgan only gives a .25% interest that is than taxed super heavy comparative to the gains. That money was safe but you were essentially treading water. Not smart. Make that money work. Invest it. If not in a fund et al- in yourself. Live your dreams. Incorporate, manage, and build an empire. Be more than a grunt. Be a Captain. Life is handed to those who work. Not those who coast.
Productivity can be merely managerial. A site manager on a house flip keeps momentum in their favor. That’s important.
Your EYE being on the ball is everything. You can do more with les activity if you have a focus.
To achieve this folks- back to basics.
Lists.
Lists.
Lists.

That’s it. And constant communication.
I’m not going to speak on this more.
You’re proactive or you are on the sidelines.
Its your choice. You can focus on motion or control motion to a cohesive end.
